Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need To Bring Anything For Our Holiday Home Stay?

Aside from yourself, and the good weather for the duration of your stay, we ask all guests to bring linen (bed and towels) for their stay. Pitlochry has a good selection of independent shops and a small supermarket which is ideal for any essentials you may need during your stay.

Where Can I buy Gas?

Calor gas can be purchased onsite at reception open daily between 10am and 7pm

What is the maximum length of vehicle your pitches can accommodate?

We have limited availability for up to 8.5m Caravans and 9m Motorhomes but highly recommend these be booked well in advance.

Can I erect an awning?

Yes only if you have booked an awning pitch. Please provide us with details of whether you have a rear or side
awning.

Can I bring my Pet?

Yes our Park is Pet Friendly. Please keep your dogs on a lead at all times and clean up after your pet. There are a number of waste bins available around the parks. We do not charge for Pets.

How should I park my Caravan/Motorhome/Campervan?

Your caravan/motorhome/campervan should be reversed into the left-hand side of the pitch with your car (if applicable) on the right, with your caravan reversed onto the pitch so that the towbar (or front of motorhome/camper) faces out of the pitch.

This is unless your habitation door is on the reverse side then we ask that you are considerate of your neighbours and park accordingly.

This allows us to ensure that sufficient distance is always kept between the units.

Caravan/Motorhome/Campervan: What is check in/check out times?

Arrival is from 12noon until 9pm.

However if you plan to arrive after 7pm please make contact with the office before 6pm by calling 01796472882.


Check out is by 12noon on the day of your departure.

Caravan/Motorhome/Campervan: What do I pay when I book?

To secure your pitch, we would require a non-refundable deposit of £36. The remaining balance, including any extras, would be due 14 days prior to arrival.

If the arrival date is within the next 14 days then you must pay the
balance in full when booking.

We do however offer up a monthly payment plan and the monthly payment iscalculated at the time of booking.

Do you have WiFi?

Yes we have free Wi-Fi available.


The Wi-Fi is provided free of charge and signal strength may fluctuate in busier periods.

The Wi-Fi is only suitable for web browsing and emails, and cannot be used for streaming/downloads.

How many vehicles can we have at our pitch?

1 motorised vehicle can be parked on your pitch (1 touring caravan + 1 car, or just 1 motorhome/camper).

If you have additional vehicles they will need to be parked at our overflow car park.

Parking in the overflow car park
is limited and there is no guarantee of a space.

Do you allow Commercial Vehicles on site?

No, we do not allow commercial vehicles or trailers on the park unless by prior agreement.

Are you Open All Year Round?

No we are open Mid March until the beginning of November and close for the Winter.

How do I choose a Pitch?

Your pitch is allocated at the time of booking and if you have any special requirements or preferred pitch numbers please request these at the time of booking. We never guarantee to accommodate special requests but we always try our very best.

How do I extend my stay?

Pop into the office or call us on 01796472882 to check availability. However, the more notice you provide us with the better.

Pitch or Caravan numbers are sent out at 3pm the day prior to the customers arrival so if you wish to stay on the caravan/pitch you have been allocated then please contact the office as early as possible to enable us to check if
retaining your pitch is possible.

Can I use a BBQ?

Yes, as long as it is raised off the grass, extinguished and disposed of safely after use if appropriate. We do not allow fire pits or chimineas.

Do you have a Motorhome Service Point?

Yes we have a Motorhome Service Point which can accommodate two Motorhomes/Campervans. Please
therefore park considerately.

You can top up your fresh water, dispose of your grey water and your chemical waste at the Service Point.

The use of the Motorhome Service Point is included in your price.


We do offer the use of these facilities to non Customers for a fee. Non payment of the use of these facilities by non Customers will have their Vehicle Registration number reported to the Police. CCTV is always in use in this area and the registration number checked against our system. Therefore, please ensure you have informed
the office of your vehicle registration number if it has recently changed or you have hire the vehicle to prevent
your details being reported.

What types of Pitches do you have?

Hard Standing Pitches – Hard standing pitches with electric hookup.
Fully Serviced Pitches – Hard standing pitches with electric hookup, fresh water tap and grey waste drain. You will require to bring your own hoses to make full use of the Fully Serviced Pitches.

What does the Price include?

The price when booking includes your pitch and 2 adults only.


Any additional adults, children or extras such as an awning must be added during booking. If awnings are not added at the time of booking then the pitch you are allocated may not be appropriate for your unit and therefore
we will request that the awning be taken down or that you move to an alternative pitch, should one be available.


We do have an area where we do not allocate families so if you have booked as a couple and have a child as late addition to your booking please advise us to enable us to check availability.

Do you accept Tent Boxes?

To ensure correct site allocation, all customers intending to stay with a Tentbox or Rooftop Tent must contact the office prior to booking or arrival by calling 01796472882 between 10am and 7pm or by e-mailing us with
pictures of your complete unit to info@fonab.co.uk.


Advance notice is required so we can confirm that your Tentbox setup is compatible with our site layout and ground conditions.


Failure to call ahead may result in refusal of entry if the site cannot safely accommodate your setup.

You may be requested to send pictures of your unit to enable our team to allocate the correct size of pitch.

What Laundry Facilities do you have?

Our Laundry facilities are open 24/7 and they have washing machines, tumble driers, an iron and airers.

Tokens can be purchased from the Office or the Shop between 10am and 7pm daily.

STATIC CARAVANS: What time is check in and check out?

Check in is from 4pm on the day of arrival. If your caravan is available prior to 4pm we will contact you.

If you plan on arriving after 7pm please contact the office on 01796-472882 to enable us to make arrangements for your keys.

Check out is by 10am on the day of departure.

STATIC CARAVANS: Is Bedding and Linen provided?

We provide Duvets, Duvet Covers, Pillows and Pillow Cases.  You require to bring sheets for the beds and Towels. If travelling via Train or from abroad please e.mail the office on info@fonab.co.uk.

STATIC CARAVANS: What Kitchen Facilites are Included?

All caravan holiday homes include a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans.  None of our Caravans have dishwashers or washing machines.

Are your Caravans Pet Friendly?

We have a selection of Caravans that can accommodate 1 Pet per booking. These are extremely popular and get booked up exceptionally quickly so do book ahead to avoid disappointment.  We do not charge extra for your Pet. Under no circumstances should a Pet be taken into a Pet Free Caravan. If this should happen there is a deep cleaning fee applied to the booking.

Do you have Hot Tubs?

No.

How many cars can be parked at the Caravan?

Each Caravan can accommodate 2 Cars.  Any additional cars MUST be parked in the overflow Car Park.

 

Can I book a Short Break?

Yes, we offer short breaks throughout the season, typically with a minimum stay of two or three nights, depending on the season and accommodation type.

How much do I need to pay at the time of Booking?

We charge a £200 deposit for caravan holiday homes. The balance will be due 14 days before arrival.

If booking within 14 days of your stay, full payment is required at the time of booking.  We also offer up a Monthly Payment Plan.

STATIC CARAVANS: Do you provide Cots and Highchairs?

Yes, cots and highchairs are available upon request when booking (subject to availability). 

 

STATIC CARAVANS: Is there a Minimum or Maximum stay?

The minimum stay varies by season - typically two nights in low season and three nights in peak periods. The maximum number of nights you can book online is 14 nights. If you require a longer stay, please get in touch with us to enable us to check availability.

Where is the nearest Whisky Distillery?

There are 2 main distilleries within short walking or driving distance of the site. 

Bells Blair Athol Distillery is the main Whisky distillery in Pitlochry and is a few minutes walk away. The distillery tour gives you an insight into the story of a large commercial whisky operation or pop into the Mash Tun Bar, which serves a large choice of whiskies and whisky cocktails.

Dewars Distillery. Situated half an hour from Pitlochry is the beautiful, market town, Aberfeldy, home to Dewar’s World of Whisky. Discover this respected single malt that is the heart of the Dewar’s family of blends.

 

Is Car Parking Available?

Yes. Each unit has ample space to allow for parking.

Can You Smoke In The Holiday Homes?

Smoking is not permitted in any of the hire caravans.

Are Travel Cots Or Highchairs Provided?

We have a limited number of travel cots and highchairs available, please let us know at the time of booking if these are required.
