Health and Safety

Here at Fonab Caravan Park we take the safety of our guests and customers very seriously. In the event of a Fire or Flood at the holiday park, we have a detailed evacuation process to ensure everyone's safety.

Below you can find our Flood, Gas and Fire Emergency Evacuation Plan with meeting points and detailed information regarding the health and safety proceedures at Fonab Caravan Park.

We advise ALL guest's to familiarise themselves with these in the event we need to evacuate all holiday homes, tourers and caravans.

Use of Electric Bikes, Electric Scooters & Mobility Scooters

1. Definitions

"Electric bikes and scooters" ("Devices") means any electrically assisted or electrically propelled bicycle, scooter or similar personal micro‑mobility device used anywhere on the Site.

2. Mandatory safety equipment

When using a Device anywhere on the Site, the rider and any passenger (see No. 3 below) must always wear the following safety equipment:

  • A properly fitting protective helmet designed for cycling or scooter use and meeting a recognised safety standard (for example, EN 1078, BS EN 1078 or equivalent), with the helmet correctly fastened.

2a.  Recommended safety equipment

  • A high‑visibility jacket or vest between sunset and sunrise or during periods of poor visibility or when directed by Site staff.
  • Sturdy, closed‑toe footwear and clothing appropriate for riding that does not interfere with safe operation of the Device.

3. Additional requirements

  • Passengers are only permitted where the Device is expressly designed and rated to carry more than one person and the passenger must also wear the required safety equipment.
  • Riders must ensure their Device is maintained in a safe, roadworthy condition and used in adhering to the Site speed limit and in accordance with any area restrictions and staff instructions.

4. Non‑compliance and enforcement

Failure to comply with these safety requirements constitutes a breach of our Site rules. The Site Owner reserves the right to refuse permission to ride, withdraw permission to remain on the Site, require immediate cessation of Device use, or request the Device be removed from the Site. Repeated or serious breaches may result in eviction without refund.

5. Liability and insurance

Riders are responsible for their own safety and the safety of any passengers. The Site Owner accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage resulting from failure to wear required safety equipment or from misuse of Devices. Failure to comply with these requirements may affect the outcome of any insurance claims.

6. Acceptance

By bringing, riding or permitting a Device on the Site you acknowledge you have read and will comply with these requirements and any directions given by Site staff in relation to Device use.

7. Charging of E.Bikes/E.Scooters/Mobility Scooters

You can charge your E.Bikes/E.Scooters/Mobility Scooters from your Holiday Accommodation. We would ask that you do a full charge prior to your holiday with us and use us for topping up. As the window will be left open for the cable, we would ask that you are in the Holiday Accommodation during charging.  Please be aware that our ampage may be overloaded, so please do not use lots of other electrical devices whilst charging to avoid the electric tripping.
